Super Serums

I'm sorry I've been gone for a while everyone. Life happens sometimes! I know I have mentioned a lot recently how I am becoming more and more obsessed with my skincare routine. After trying out quite a few different products in the past year, I have found quite a few new holy grail products, these two super charged serums being two of them!

I'll start with the expensive, decadent wonder that is Estee Lauder's Advanced Night Repair 2. And yes, the 2 is important! After reading the list of ingredients on the original it never struck my fancy, but when I was kindly given 5 sachets of this from a friendly sales associate at Myer I gave this one a go. I don't really believe in skin care products that can change your skin overnight, but this is the closest thing I have ever found. The thing that struck me is that it made my skin feel so luminous even after one night of use. After a few weeks of use I can say it has managed to improve my skin's texture and it's overall radiance. Chock full of hyaluronic acid and peptides, this is one expensive puppy but I think it is absolutely worth the investment. Go and ask for a sample at your local counter - your skin will thank you!

The second one I want to mention is the infamous Hydraluron. This serum has burst into the forefront of beauty bloggers and vloggers bags, and I am so happy that it is so easily available in Australia now. All I can say about this one is that yes, believe the hype, it does wonders. This serum is essentially just a giant burst of hyaluronic acid (yes one of the key ingredients in the ANR2!) that when applied under your moisturiser will leave your skin feeling plump and comfortable. This is much more affordable that the ANR2 so if you are on a budget, I would go ahead and grab this instead. And if you have the budget for both, sometimes I even layer the two if my skin is looking super poorly *cough cough after a big night out*

Have you tried either of these guys out? What is your favourite serum?

  1. Great post Mishelle! Good to see you back :)
I'm loving the Hydraluron as my morning serum. It just makes your moisturiser work soooo much better. I thought that was a load of shit when I heard bloggers saying it but it's so not! Haha.

  4. Good to have you back :)

I have the Hydraluron and I love it. I've heard so many great things about the EL serum. I'm tempted to get it, but already have too many serums that I haven't finished yet.

  5. Oh I've wanted to try these two products so bad! I love using my rosehip oil though which I find works well and is less expensive than the ANR, but maybe one day I will indulge in it :) I tried the Hydraluron at Priceline and found it made me skin really tight, but I love how it isn't oily at all! I might go ask for a sample of ANR the next time I'm at Myer or David Jones :)

  7. I am currently trying the estee lauder ANR 2 too! I got the deluxe sample which is a tiny 7ml bottle of the serum.. I have been using it every night for the past 2 weeks and I barely use half of the tiny bottle. hehe
I have not yet noticed any huge improvement, but I can see that my make up glides on smoother and lasts longer. my skin is less red and feels supple and healthy. I will use up the deluxe sample which I think will still last me for the next month and see if there will be more improvements. at the moment, I am not sure if I'll repurchase it.. but we'll see :-D

  13. Welcome back lovely. I totally know how it is when life gets in the way...

I haven't tried either of these products but my facialist sold me a serum that's purely hyaluronic acid and I love it. It's great for moisture and my skin adores it. It's got no label and is nothing fancy but it's fantastic:) x

  14. Yes, life gets in the way! Don't worry, I'm sure we all have been there too :) These sound so luxurious. I haven't tried these ones. My favourite serum at the moment is one from Lush that comes in a little bar. So interesting for a serum but works so good.
