You guys know I love drugstore makeup. By drugstore I mean lower end brands, things that are easily available at your local shopping centre. I love it most when drugstore brands bring out products that truly rival higher end alternatives. And with that in mind today I wanted to review for you a selection of the Savvy Long Lasting Matte Lipsticks.

Savvy are an Australian brand that have been out for some time now. They are very reasonably priced and quite frequently they will go on sale at Priceline on 3 for 2 or other similar offers. When I say that they had brought out a range of matte lipsticks I was intrigued. Matte lipsticks appeal to me because they are incredibly long lasting on the lips and I also just enjoy the way they look in general. I had eyed off these lipsticks for a while so when they were in a good deal a few months ago I decided to pick up a few of the colours in Paris, Maui, San Fran and Bali.

Paris, Maui, San Fran and Bali.

San Fran

These are averagely drying compared to the other matte lipsticks I own from higher end brands, they really have the texture I have come to expect of matte lipsticks in general. They last for ages, I would say up to double the wear of something like a Cremesheen from Mac or a Rouge Coco Shine from Chanel. My picks from the bunch are Paris and Bali, as I feel that Maui and San Fran are colours I already own. Bali is such a beautiful vampy colour, I am in love with it!

Would I recommend these? Hell yes. They are super cheap and great quality. Get on it!

Do you like matte lipsticks? What is your favourite matte lipstick that you own?

Super Serums

I'm sorry I've been gone for a while everyone. Life happens sometimes! I know I have mentioned a lot recently how I am becoming more and more obsessed with my skincare routine. After trying out quite a few different products in the past year, I have found quite a few new holy grail products, these two super charged serums being two of them!

I'll start with the expensive, decadent wonder that is Estee Lauder's Advanced Night Repair 2. And yes, the 2 is important! After reading the list of ingredients on the original it never struck my fancy, but when I was kindly given 5 sachets of this from a friendly sales associate at Myer I gave this one a go. I don't really believe in skin care products that can change your skin overnight, but this is the closest thing I have ever found. The thing that struck me is that it made my skin feel so luminous even after one night of use. After a few weeks of use I can say it has managed to improve my skin's texture and it's overall radiance. Chock full of hyaluronic acid and peptides, this is one expensive puppy but I think it is absolutely worth the investment. Go and ask for a sample at your local counter - your skin will thank you!

The second one I want to mention is the infamous Hydraluron. This serum has burst into the forefront of beauty bloggers and vloggers bags, and I am so happy that it is so easily available in Australia now. All I can say about this one is that yes, believe the hype, it does wonders. This serum is essentially just a giant burst of hyaluronic acid (yes one of the key ingredients in the ANR2!) that when applied under your moisturiser will leave your skin feeling plump and comfortable. This is much more affordable that the ANR2 so if you are on a budget, I would go ahead and grab this instead. And if you have the budget for both, sometimes I even layer the two if my skin is looking super poorly *cough cough after a big night out*

Have you tried either of these guys out? What is your favourite serum?
