Today I wanted to talk about one of my very favourite natural beauty wonder produtcs, which is Coconut Oil! In this post I'm going to tell you all the ins and outs of this wonderful stuff, and my top three uses for it!
First of all, you can buy Coconut Oil from any good Health Food Store. You can probably buy it at some supermarkets too, however I haven't seen it stocked at my local one. I like to buy the organic stuff, but it really doesn't matter what you buy in terms of results I don't think. It's all the same stuff.
My top three ways to use Coconut Oil:
1. As a body moisturiser. The number one reason I love this stuff so much is because it doesn't leave an oily residue behind when I use it as a body moisturiser. This is one of the fastest absorbing beauty oils I have ever tried. I love to use it on my legs most of all, especially in cold weather like we are currently having!
2. As a hair mask. This stuff makes a great hair mask/treatment. What I like it do is cover my entire ponytail in the stuff and then put it in a bun on top of my head. About 20 minutes later I will wash and condition my hair as per usual, however my hair is always a lot less frizzy afterwards!
3. As a cuticle oil. As a cuticle oil, this has all but stopped those nasty skin sty things that always used to happen on my cuticles. It also makes your hands feel super, super soft!
What is your favourite beauty oil? Have you got any other uses for coconut oil?

These are such great uses for coconut oil BUT don't discount it for eating! Saturated fats aren't always bad for you and this is actually extremely healthy to eat. It aids in weight loss, increases heart health and has so many other health benefits. My boyfriend and I often cook with this rather than any other oils.
ReplyDeleteoh this is a great tip!
ReplyDeleteI'll take a look the next time I buy grocery :D

ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a really useful, multi-purpose natural product! I like the idea of using it as a hair mask for restoring the smoothness and health to your hair :) I'm sure it smells lovely too!
ReplyDeleteOoh I've heard so much about coconut oil! I think I might need to get my hands on it- I love how it is so versatile :) Some say that it is good for your health though, despite the level of saturated fat it contains!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE using coconut as a hair mask also!! At first I made a complete mess and drenched my bed in it, I never realised it would transform into an actual oil so quickly! Silly me!! By far my best multi-purpose natural oil to use! :) X
