All about Bioderma Sensibio/Crealine and where to buy it!

Bioderma Sensibio (previously known as Crealine) is well and truly a cult favourite online. I don't remember who first mentioned it but I definitely remember that it was a YouTuber. I'm sure you already know what it is but Bioderma Sensibio is an amazing, super gentle makeup remover. It is my holy grail makeup remover and I will never buy anything else again!

Now I have no idea why they changed the name of this from Crealine to Sensibio (French people, help me out?) but I'm glad to see that there is no change in formulation. This makeup remover is a Micellar Water, and it does basically just feel like a water when applied to the skin. I think how it works is the molecules grab the oil off your skin in a gentle way. If you would like to read an amazing scientific explanation of how this works, make sure you check out Michelle's blog post on the topic.

How I use Sensibio is I apply a liberal amount to a cotton pad, then I press and hold the cotton pad over my eye for about 15 seconds. Do not, and I repeat, do not pull or tug at your eyes with the cotton round. Your eye area is so sensitive, be gentle! When I pull the cotton pad away, 99% of my eye makeup will be on the cotton pad. I never ever EVER scrub at my eyes (or anywhere on my face for that matter). Nor should you! To remove the rest of the makeup on my face I wipe it away gently. I then proceed to cleanse my face a second time, with cleanser and water. This is another point I wanted to make, you need one cleanse to remove your makeup, and a second cleanse to clean the oil and dirt of the day off your face. Sensibio should be your first step, not your entire cleansing routine!

Now to the important part, where on earth can I find this miracle stuff?

The best place to get Sensibio that I have found is Escentual.com. They charge about $5 for shipping, and they stock all three sizes of it, in 100ml ($7.60), 250ml ($17.95) and 500ml ($24.70). I like to buy the 500ml size because it lasts me over 6 months. Oh and my package arrived in less than a week.

If you have sensitive eyes, or just want to try an amazing makeup remover I strongly recommend it!

Have you hopped on the Sensibio train?

Coconutty

Today I wanted to talk about one of my very favourite natural beauty wonder produtcs, which is Coconut Oil! In this post I'm going to tell you all the ins and outs of this wonderful stuff, and my top three uses for it!

First of all, you can buy Coconut Oil from any good Health Food Store. You can probably buy it at some supermarkets too, however I haven't seen it stocked at my local one. I like to buy the organic stuff, but it really doesn't matter what you buy in terms of results I don't think. It's all the same stuff.

The texture of Coconut Oil will depend on what your local climate is like. In the summer, it tends to liquefy on me, and look similar to many other cooking oils. But in the winter it tends to solidify and come across as almost like a chunky kind of butter. It smells like coconuts, obviously, but this brand also smells a tiny bit savory!

My top three ways to use Coconut Oil:

1. As a body moisturiser. The number one reason I love this stuff so much is because it doesn't leave an oily residue behind when I use it as a body moisturiser. This is one of the fastest absorbing beauty oils I have ever tried. I love to use it on my legs most of all, especially in cold weather like we are currently having!

2. As a hair mask. This stuff makes a great hair mask/treatment. What I like it do is cover my entire ponytail in the stuff and then put it in a bun on top of my head. About 20 minutes later I will wash and condition my hair as per usual, however my hair is always a lot less frizzy afterwards!

3. As a cuticle oil. As a cuticle oil, this has all but stopped those nasty skin sty things that always used to happen on my cuticles.  It also makes your hands feel super, super soft!

Now the last thing I wanted to mention is that I do not eat coconut oil, or put it in my cooking. EVER. This oil is over 90% saturated fat, which is so so so so so bad for you health. So I do not advise eating this oil!

What is your favourite beauty oil? Have you got any other uses for coconut oil?

Haullelujah!

The answer is yes, I went shopping again. There were a few skincare bits and pieces I wanted to grab during the 40% off sale at Priceline, and then a couple of other little things just happened...

The goods

This is the main item that I wanted to pick up in the Priceline sale, which is the Olay Advanced Cleansing System. If you follow me on twitter you'll know I've been debating whether or not to fork out for a Clarisonic, so when Amy compared this baby to it I was sold. At a fraction of the price of the Clarisonic, this retails for an amazing $32. And I got it for 40% off!

Next up are two products by Indeed Labs, a brand that is new to Australia. The first is Nanoblur, which is a skin perfecting makeup product. The second is Hydraluron, a moisture boosting serum. Looking forward to trying these out :)

I have heard amazing things about MooGoo products so I decided to try out their moisturiser, called Full Cream. The packaging is shaped like a milk carton! The ingredients are really great too! I also decided to get a full size of the Dermalogica Gentle Cream Exfoliant. This stuff is an exfoliating treatment that you can use once or twice a week to give your skin a boost. I've used a sample of it and it feels really good on the skin. The last couple of things from Priceline are the Sukin Rose Hip Oil and the Palmer's Purifying Mask. I wanted to get some Rose Hip Oil as everyone says it seems to work miracles on their skin, and I wanted to try to use it on some dark spots left behind by blemishes. The Palmer's Purifying Mask is a repurchase, it is probably my favourite mask of all time.
I also forgot to include it in the picture here, but I also repurchased the Mario Badescu Enzyme Cleansing Gel. It is an amazing cleanser at a really good price!

I ran out of Nail Polish Remover so I picked up this one from Coles as it is very heavily sweet scented, which I thought might be a nice change to the regular Cutex one I buy! I actually got this Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation quite a while ago now but I forgot to include it in my last collective haul, so I thought I'd add it into this one. These Sally Hansen Salon Effects Nail Strips were on clearance at Coles so I decided to pick them up in Kitty Kitty and Missbehaved. When I got my Mario Badescu Enzyme Cleansing Gel from Kit I also grabbed a full size of the Bare Minerals Eye Primer. This eye primer is my current favourite out of all the ones I have tried so far, and I am currently trying to use up a sample of the Too Faced eye primer, which I really hate. Last of all are a couple of nail polishes, one from Sportsgirl called Stars and one from Revlon called Royal.

The last item is a Nivea Lip Butter in Caramel Cream. I have been using this for the past couple of days and oh my goodness. This stuff is amazing! It makes my lips feel so soft and moisturised!

Did you get anything in the Priceline Sale?

Why, why, WHY?!?!

Today's post is going to be a rant. I am just really pissed off about this and I wanted to write a post about it because it's driving me nuts. Hey Essence. Thanks for the amazing line of reasonably priced beauty products. I love your lipsticks, your nail polishes, and I even enjoy a couple of the eye shadows. But the crown jewels in your collection (in my opinion) were the Fix and Matte Powder, Gel Eyeliner and Eye Shadow base. Amazing, amazing products at an AMAZING PRICE. Oh wait? You've discontinued all three of them?

...
...
... WHAT WHY OH GOD WHY

I don't want to talk about it.

Look at this friggin powder. It's bloody brilliant. Finely milled as hell, sets my under eye concealer like no other. GUESS IT DOESN'T MATTER NOW

OH GOD WHY. THIS eye shadow base I actually use as concealer, and no big deal but it DOESN'T settle into my fine lines or nothing. Not like it's the best thing I've ever tried for hiding dark circles, nope. Yeah, so no big deal Essence. NOT LIKE IT WAS HOLY GRAIL STATUS TO ME

Oh yeah this one I know I'm not alone. Your gel eye liners. So maybe I didn't care for your black one. BUT YOUR BROWN ONE. OH LORD IT'S SO BEAUTIFUL. I have used up most of this pot, what am I supposed to do now???

Friggin swatches and shit

So yeah. I'm pissed as hell. Essence, I will be tweeting this post to you and if you read it, please bring back these products. They are amazing and very high quality at an amazing price. Sarcasm aside, I am actually going to be really sad when these products run out on me as I don't have a replacement for any of them yet.

If any of you guys have any dupes for these guys I'd really appreciate your recommendations.
