It's May already and I'm in denial about how fast the year is passing by. I thought it was time to get my favourites up so y'all know what I've been putting on my face this month.
Lush Marilyn is a hair moisturiser for blonde hair. The consistency of this reminds me a lot of cake batter, which made me want to get baking every time I used it. I often try out hair mask type products, but I have frequently found myself disappointed. However this one is one of very few I feel actually contributed a lasting difference to the texture of my hair. It made my hair look blonder, shinier and softer. Highly recommended!
In my opinion Maybelline make the best drugstore mascaras. Although I am very inclined to Lancome's formulations, I find that forking out $50 every few months is a little bit more than my wallet is comfortable with. So I decided to try out the much hyped Maybelline the Falsies and I really like the formula. It is very volumizing and it doesn't smudge or fade throughout the day. I think I would repurchase this one again.
In spirit of my project pan I pulled out this Australis Primer that has been sitting in my drawer since the boxing day sales. The first couple of times I used it I was generally unimpressed but as I persevered I came to appreciate the smoothing qualities of this primer. When I applied it on my face after my skincare routine I noticed it made a significant difference to my skin's texture, even before applying foundation. My only gripe is that it contains fragrance, which as a product that is supposed to protect the skin is a pretty stupid inclusion.
I think the last time I used Revlon Colorstay foundation must have been atleast six months ago. I purchased this bottle last year when I first started researching popular foundations online. I remembered it being very thick and cakey, but I thought I would try to use it up for my project pan. Perhaps it's because I have different brushes now but I am really enjoying it this time around. I had some awful breakouts this month and this foundation has great coverage and really helped to conceal the problem. It lasts so well, and I love the natural finish of Nars Sheer Glow, but it just doesn't have the staying power that this sucker does!
First of all, sorry for this photo being so dark. The sun does not want to come out from behind a cloud today. If you saw my review of Nars Dragon Girl earlier this month, you'll already know my thoughts on it, but in summary this is my holy grail red lip product at the moment.
I got a sample of the Kosmea Skin Clinic Rescue Balm in my David Jones Beauty Bag a while back and I hadn't touched it until this month. I belive this is an all purpose balm, akin to the likes of Lucas Paw Paw Ointment, but I have been using it soley as a lipbalm. In summary, this is fantastic. It really helps to moisturize and soothe the lips, and I have been using it to prep my lips all month. It smells a little bit medical so I would give it a smell before you rush out and by it, I get the feeling it is a scent some wouldn't like.
I have been saying forever that I need to start including my favourite blogs in my favourites, so here is one that you need to follow. Marie from Ruelalips is one of my favourites, I love that her posts are a mix of reviews and little features. Please go check her out and tell her I sent you!
The new season of Game of Thrones has been exceeding every expectation I had for it. Episode 4 was absolutely mind blowing. If you haven't been watching this show, you are missing out! Get on it!
This youtube video made me laugh more than I want to admit this month!
