When I saw the product photos for Essence's Cherry Blossom Girl Collection, I knew there were a few items I had to have. Luckily I managed to pick every single item I wanted, which is a first!
The goodies!
First up we have an Dreaming Under a Cherry Tree Eyeshadow Quattro. First up, the colour combo is so lovely, and very unique! However, the colours aren't super pigmented and they blend into nothing very easily. I have never tried an eye shadow quad from Essence before, but these shades seem sheerer than their individual shadows that I have tried. These shades had okay wear time, a bit of fading after wearing about 6 hours, but hey it's in the middle of a humid summer here, all of my makeup is melting.
Burnt Orange, Soft Grey, Peach and Brownish Taupe
As you can see the shades don't come across super pigmented on the eye, but they still look okay.
How cute are these Hidden in Sakura Garden Paper Lashes? I will definitely be saving these for a special occasion, like a dress up party or a concert. Love love love love love.
Asian Sensation is a two toned blush in a bright coral and soft peach. These shades are very smooth upon application, they look beautiful separately, however when swirled together they make the ultimate peachy blush!
Coral, Soft Peach, Mixed
I am impressed.
Hello Glitty Shimmering Body Powder is such a cute product to have. It has a pretty sparkly finish so I don't think I would use this on the face, but I would however sweep this across my collarbones on a night out :)
Konnichiwa Girls, Hello Glitty
Konnichiwa Girls! Highlighting Pen definitely reminds me of a few other pinky, pearlescent liquid highlighting products I have seen around. When I swatched this I was super impressed with the colour, however upon application I came across some issues. The formula dries super quickly so whilst I tried to pat it out on top of my Nars Sheer Glow foundation, it started to make my foundation go patchy. The effect was similar to the effect you get when you try and apply a liquid product over a powder. I don't think I can recommend this product to you, this is one of my pet hates with products. I took a picture to show you what I mean.
Aint nobody got time for that
I got all of the nail polishes in this collection, which are called Fortune Cookie, My Little Kimono, Cherry Cherry Girl and It's Peach Not Cherry. The formula of these polishes is a dream, they all apply smoothly and look perfect in two coats.

Do you think you will be picking up anything from this collection?
Mishelle
The Cherry Blossom Girl Collection looks amazing!! I really love the eyeshadows and paper lashes!

What a beautiful collection! Everything looks gorgeous and I love the colour palette that it focused on :)
ReplyDeleteThe products looks great, thanks for a great post!!
ReplyDeleteOh my gawsh - everyone is going crazy over this collection, including myself! Those paper lashes are amazing (but I would never ever get any wear out of them considering I've never even worn normal fake lashes!) and the blush looks beautiful too. I was going to pick up the lip pencils they had in the range because I have been getting into lip crayons with the FOA ones and Revlon balm stains but from what I've read, they are pretty awful. Those polishes look gorgeous. Oh my goodness I just want everything!

Hello Glitty! You don't want to mispronounce that! I also live in Perth and sick of my face melting off every day...luckily today is a bit better. Have you tried the shadows over a cream shadow base? The colours may last longer. These colours look pretty on you.
ReplyDeleteI usually use an eye shadow primer every day :)

What a cute collection! Wish we had these in the States. The paper lashes are adorable and that blush - wow. My Little Kimono and It's Peach not Cherry are great colors too! :)
ReplyDeleteThat quad is really pretty.
ReplyDeleteI think the nail polish's are what saved this collection for me. I'm so happy that you skipped the lipstick pencils as they were horrible. I kind of expected better from the highlighting pen though.
ReplyDeleteUgh I haven't had the time to go to Priceline yet but I definitely want to pick up the nail polishes and the blush.
ReplyDeleteI keep seeing this collection but honestly I'm not to impressed by it.. the first time I had a play around with it in Priceline the liquid eyeliner exploded on me =S but those nail polishes look good i might pick some of those up :)
ReplyDeleteOH WOW I wish Essence becomes available in the Philippines! I love anything Cherry Blossom and I think the blush that you got is very very pretty :D
ReplyDeleteIt's a great collection and I have to stop myself buying everything as I'm trying to save money. I bought the blush though and love the colour. It's a shame the quad isn't very pigmented cause the colours are lovely. The nailpolishes are real pretty too, especially the peach one, but my boyfriend would kill me if I got another polish, haha.
ReplyDeleteI think out of this whole collection I was most excited about the lip crayons but I have only heard bad things...I LOVE the eyelashes and blush :) great review mishelle!

That sucks about the eyeshadows, the taupe colour looks so pretty though. I really like the look of the blush so I think I'll have to look for it next time I'm at Priceline or Target x
ReplyDeleteThe blush from that collection seems like such a pretty color xx
ReplyDeleteOh!!! I was at priceline yesterday and they didn't have this :( They did have the 50's Girl Reloaded Collection... I have a haul and first impressions video here xxxx http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UiEVBPEZZZ0
ReplyDeleteI'm super happy with the blush. The lipstick pencils ended up in the bin. I do wish they had testers in store!
ReplyDeletegreat haul!! I have the blush as well and I love it ;)) This collection has been released in Germany like 4 months ago, so happy it finally reached Australia! ;)
ReplyDeleteI need the blush and the paper lashes! But nowhere to be seen at my local Target :( The nail polishes are cute, I like the grey one and the others are fun and summery!
ReplyDeleteI picked up the blush, body powder and paper lashes on Friday - used the body powder across my collarbone yesterday! Such pretty packaging but I wish the other products in the line actually worked grrr xx
ReplyDeleteThis collection, for me, is adorable :) I hope to find the palette and the blush, I love the colours!

ReplyDeleteHad a bit of a giggle at your caption about the highlighter :P
I'm so glad you got everything you wanted, the stand at my local Priceline is already empty :0
ReplyDeleteThe pen highlighter is working really well for me worn along my browbone, maybe give that a shot? I do like fast drying highlighters though :)
Love the new look for 2013 of your blog!
ReplyDeleteumm wow I *need* those lashes & that blush is to die for! Sad to hear about the highlighter pen, sometimes quick drying products aren't best!
ReplyDeleteThe peachy polish and highlighter are awesome! I wish I got a chance to get some stuff from the snow white collection but I didnt! And oh my, I'd LOVE to get some paper lashes for fun!
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to convince my boyfriend to head out and buy some for my birthday! I'm hoping he will as they all look fantastic! :D
ReplyDelete(Well except for that highlighter... I'm not a big fan of highlighters to be honest)
