Bye Bye Bellabox!

So I have been subscribed to Bellabox since September and this will be my last box. I have enjoyed my subscription to Bellabox, however I have decided to cancel my subscription as I think the money could be better spent elsewhere. I always get my box after everyone else, so the products are never a surprise to me, which kind of ruins the fun if I'm honest! This months box was pretty darn disappointing too...

My last Bellabox

The goods

Now before we examine the contents of this box, let me remind you what Bellabox is marketing themselves as.

Bellabox is is a premium monthly beauty box of high-end cosmetic samples and beauty products sent directly to your door.

Face of Australia Purifying Cleansing Wipes - A pack of $5 wipes?
Mode Nail Polish in Rave'n - Again, a nail polish that costs $2.50...
Swisse Body wash with Vitamin B3 and Macrobiotic Sea Minerals - I didn't like the hand cream and this body wash smells the same.
You Me and Everybody Cool it Aloe Vera Gel - I have used Aloe Vera Gels in the past, they are amazing for sunburn.
Natio Pure Minerals Skin Perfecting BB cream in Medium - I got given a sample of this at Myer for free, so I wouldn't even count this as a product, plus it doesn't match my skin.

Please tell me what part of this box is high end?

Mode Nail Polish in Rave'n

Now for the review of last month's contents...

1. Savior Faire Palette in Winter - I'm not going to lie, I thought this palette was nothing special. The eye liner and mascara suck and the eye shadow composition is just not my taste at all.
2. Allegra Rhodes Hand and Nail Cream in Red Lychee - I loved this! I used the last of my bellabox points to buy a full size of this hand cream. I think the smell is so nice :)
3. Anumi Miracle Recovery - I loved this serum and I think I may get the full size, it seems to really work.
4. Zipettes - Great idea but I don't know when I will ever use these!
5. John Frieda Frizz Ease - Meh, this product didn't do that much for my hair, and I have the frizziest hair ever.
6. Reb'l Fleur by Rihanna - The perfume smelt nice but the sample sachets were ridiculous to use...

Bye bye Bellabox, it was fun while it lasted!

  1. I agree, the products in this months' box dont exactly look very high end! Dont blame you for stopping your subscription!
I have been tempted many times, and also last month with the Savoir Faire Palette, but I didnt, and glad I decided not to as the palette is really not my style either!
And I also agree, I much rather save my money for products that I really like!

  2. I'm really glad I never subscribed, because I keep hearing bad things, especially lately, where I've read about numerous ladies cancelling their subscription. Doesn't seem high end at all!

  3. I'm thinking I'll unsubscribe too. I'd rather save my $15 a month ($30 since I unsubscribed to LHI) and buy something I really want. I'm happy to just read reviews from other people about the products.
I only really liked the nail polish, but for $15 I could have gone to the chemist and bought 5 bottles, with change.

  4. yayy you go girl! i am having the same issue with Glossybox - they say highend and it really is all drugstore items.
Red Lychee sounds like it would smell really good :)

  5. These boxes seem so hit and miss that I'd rather not risk it! It's a shame that they sent you such cheap products :( especially the $2.50 polish like is that a joke?!

    Answer: The price. ;)

  9. That's weird, my bellabox had wotnot wipes instead of FOA this month, and I didn't get a mode nail polish, but a FOA lipgloss instead.

My subscription is pretty new though, I only started with it last month but I'm happy so far - only because so far I've got more than $15 would get me otherwise :p but I guess only time will tell!

  10. I had a couple of Jurlique products in my box but aside from that, everything was cheap. I'm going to keep my subscription for another month but I'll definitely be canceling if February's box is this poor as well. I've also found (after only subscribing for a month so far) that their customer service doesn't seem to be very good either.

    Such a shame!

  12. I'm subscribed to a few beauty boxes, and I feel as if they really are a hit and miss, and sometimes a total waste of money. x

  13. oh that's too bad that you didn't like these products:(

  14. This month's box wasn't anything special was it? I unsubscribed this month too so it's my last as well.I have enjoyed it for the last few months when I had it but if you keep getting it much later then yes it defeats the whole surprise element :)

  15. Wow this month's box looks shocking. Definitely a good idea to unsubscribe! The Mode nail polishes are awful, I have a couple myself because the pretty colours drew me in- how wrong I was. I received one of the Natio samples free as well, this shouldn't be counted as a product for sure! I guess subscription boxes are fun at the beginning but their novelty wears off not long after :)

  16. It seems like so many of the beauty boxes on the market keep lowering the value of the contents in their boxes. So disappointing when you sign up and expect high-end luxury samples and get cheap stuff instead! x

  17. I'm still subscribed to Glossybox and I've been considering unsubscribe. The travel size products are ok and sometimes great brands but it really bothers me to get little samples/sachets that you can get anywhere for free!

  21. I've also unsubscribed to Bella Box, thank god because I can't believe how poor the quality of this months box was. Couldn't agree with this post more

  22. Our boxes are such a joke compared to some of the ones from the US and UK. But I think in general subscription boxes are SO hit and miss (mainly miss) - it's always made more sense to me to save that money or spend it on something (or part of something) that you actually want. I can see why you'd be less than thrilled with this month's offering - nothing exciting or luxe AT ALL about it.

  23. Wow this is actually a lot of products! I haven't actually heard about this box before. I just started a 3-month subscription to birchbox so maybe I'll try this one after!

  24. Hmm, overall, Dec wasn't a bad box but not entirely to my liking, I must say that the palette was great value for money but just not to my tastes.

I think I'd have been disappointed by Jan's box if I had received it.

I dropped my subscription midway last year as I was getting 'boxed out' and I can't say I have regretted my decision at all!

  25. I love the look of that Mode nail polish. My fave colour is orange, so this blog post certainly caught my eye. Might have to give that product a try :)

  27. ahh wow, I can see what you mean, for what you pay you would expect something more than a $2.50 nail polish, and a sample is hardly anything! Thanks for letting me know not to get this :) x
