Let it be known, in the past I haven't really enjoyed using pencil eye liners. I can't deal with smudging, or formulas that pull on my eyelid. Ain't nobody got time for that. However in recent times I have tried a couple of lovely formulas that have gotten me back on the pencil liner bandwagon, the first of all being Australis's 10 Hour Wear Pencils.
Even though these are in a pencil format, these have such a smooth buttery texture more reminiscent of a cream product. The product in the pencil is very soft, so soft in fact I would warn you to take care whilst sharpening the pencils. When you apply these on your eyes they apply smooth and opaque with a single line, and once applied they set within the minute. Once these babies set, I tell you, they are not going anywhere for atleast ten hours. The longevity of this product stands up completely to the 10 hour wear claim. Have I convinced you yet? Okay! Let's check out the colours.
Aqua Attack, Grape Cake and Bombastic Bronze
Despite the slightly hilarious names, these colours are swiped only a single time to achieve the opacity you see in the picture above. Aqua Attack is a matte sky blue, Grape Cake is a metallic purple with a black base, and Bombastic Bronze is a metallic bronze. I find Bombastic Bronze the most wearable colour but the blackened base of Grape Cake gives it a dimension that I really enjoy. I can only imagine that Aqua Attack would look stunning on someone who didn't already have blue eyes like myself.
I wanted to post about these today because Priceline is currently having a sale for buy one get one free on eye and lip products. I would highly recommend you try these eye liners, they are one of the best products from Australis, and I sincerely hope they release more colours in the future.
