Innoxa is a brand I have overlooked whilst stumbling through the isles of Priceline, as I often do. However, recently after being impressed with the quality of their lipsticks I was also tempted to explore the brand further. That is how I stumbled upon this little gem, the Naturally Nude eye shadow quad.
The main appeal of this quad is that the outer two shades are matte whilst the central two are shimmer. The matte shades are on the dryer side formula wise but they do show up well enough to allow for easy use. The matte flesh toned shade is so in synergy with the colour of my skin that it does not show up well in the swatch above, however it is a shade I reach for on a daily basis to blank out the colour of my lids or as a matte highlight. I did not have a shade like this before the purchase of this quad, but now I don't think I can ever be without one again. The central two shimmer colours are beautiful and understated on the eye. After using Urban Decay shadows almost religiously, these have a welcome subtly to them. Formula wise, they are almost identical to the feel of the Mac frost eye shadow formula. The fourth shade does not swatch impressively however the cool tone of this dark brown creates a very natural shadow in the crease. I particularly love to use this shade when I am feigning a higher crease for a 60's eye look.
I don't quite know exactly what makes this quad for me but it is quickly becoming one of my most used makeup items. I have so many buttery, extremely metallic eye shadows that this is nice to switch down to, especially for a low maintenance day. If you are not a huge eye shadow person I think this could be perfect for you. Or if you are a huge eye shadow person like myself, this might be a nice subtle quad to have under your wing for work or lazy days. If I could replace the copper toned shimmer with Mac's satin taupe, I could easily travel with only this quad.
If you would like to see some of these eye shadows in action, I used them in a video here.
What unexpected products have you fallen in love with lately?

I've always avoided Innoxa as I thought they were an "old lady" brand but I tried out one of their blushes once (it was on sale for like 70% off!) and thought that it was amazing!
ReplyDeleteI think I'd want this palette if the brown was darker.. I'm really looking for a super dark brown eyeshadow :)
Yeah the brown isn't 100% amazing but it's enough to define the crease which is all I really need :) I think blogging has definitely made me try out new brands :D

Such pretty colors. I like when palettes include at least a matte color x
ReplyDeleteI totally agree, mattes are so underrated!

Innoxa is famous for their tinted moisturiser and primer also. I am playing around with the blushing blossom version of the palette at the moment :)
ReplyDeleteI would love to see a review :D
DeleteI'm not going to lie, the only product I have ever tried from the Innoxa range is one lipstick haha. This sounds lovely though - I should definitely give Innoxa the benefit of the doubt and give a few more of their products a go! x
ReplyDeleteDefinitely!

I have to admit that Innoxa as well, I only have a very few of their products. But that Quad does look pretty good.

I love this, Mish! I haven't tried many Innoxa products but this looks very pretty. I know they have a great reputation for lipsticks and foundation/tinted moisturiser but I haven't really heard much about their shadows! Colours look really pretty on you too.

I hadn't heard about their tinted moisturiser before, I shall pick it up!

The shimmery ones look very similar to two of the shades from Essence that I have. :)
