Little Darlings

When I saw Shell post about the Too Faced Beauty Editor Darlings Collection I knew that I had to get my hands on it. I have only tried one eye shadow and blush palette from Too Faced and I have been very curious about other well reviewed items in this line. This set contains five samples of their most well reviewed products, Lashgasm Mascara, Glamour Gloss Lip Gloss, Lip Insurance Lip Primer, Primed and Poreless Face Primer and Too Faced Shadow Insurance.

I'm not going to lie though, I haven't really been that impressed so far. Don't get me wrong, the Shadow Insurance is a great eye lid primer, very similar to Urban Decay's Primer Potion. The Lipgloss is a great texture but it has very tingly plumping effect that I'm not personally the biggest fan of. The Primed and Poreless Primer is pretty darn average and the Lip Primer doesn't appear to work well on my lips. I haven't yet opened the Lashgasm Mascara. I have only been using these products for about a week, so I will let you know if my opinions change with continued use. Overall, I think it's a good way to sample the brand, so if you have wanted to check out a couple of these products at a good price, now's your chance :) I have definitely satisfied my desire to check out more of this brand, unfortunately if these are really the beauty editors picks, I don't know if I'll pick up much from Too Faced in the future.

  4. I love the Toofaced shadow insurance, I've used it for many years. I recently bought my first Too-faced lippy, and I LOVE IT! The texture is so creamy... that being said, there are many other great lippies at cheaper prices.

    1. I love some of the colours of the Too Faced Lipsticks, but they are a little pricey to me, I mean Mac lippies are cheaper (from the US of course) and they are my No. 1 favourite!

  5. I have all of these products myself, and actually really like them! (Although each to their own!)
I love the Eye Shadow insurance, probably because it was the first high end one I ever used, so I've just stuck with it. I loved the lippy, but that's because I'm a personal fan of the tingly sensation, whereas I know heaps of people aren't so that's understandable. Have actually never tried the Primer yet, although I have a sample waiting so maybe I'll give it a go now, just to see.
The lip insurance was so so, worked alright for me but I can see it being a bit blah for some people.
I love the mascara! One of my favourites! :)

Hopefully you do end up liking at least a few, but at least you only got sample sizes and didn't spring for the entire set full sized! Great way to test out products first!

  6. I haven't tried much from Too Faced other than the Shadow Insurance... I honestly can't tell whether it works well or not! I don't wear heavy eyeshadow often, and I prefer cream shadows anyways that tend to have primer built in, so I'm probably not the best judge of it... so far however I prefer to use MAC paint pots as eyelid primers. Good to know your honest opinions on the other products!

  8. That's a shame you're not really enjoying it! I have to say I was a little disappointed too. The eye primer is the only thing I have been using regularly. Hopefully you like the mascara, it's not great but I like to layer it with my regular mascara for more length :) xx

    1. I totally agree. I nearly always try to get samples or try out a product before I use it. Especially when it comes to foundation, primer or skincare!

  11. Aww, what a shame that you didn't like a few of their products. I have Shadow Insurance and Primed and Poreless and I do agree with what you said. It's a good thing Too Faced have great eyeshadows and cheek products, haha! :)

  12. I'm not really in love with Too Faced either. I picked up one of their eyeshadow palettes earlier in the year and was seriously underwhelmed with it that it more or less stopped me from being further interested in their products. The eyeshadow primer sounds effective though!
