Confessions of a Beauty Blogger Tag

Hey everyone!

Hard at work on the blog.
This picture makes no sense because I am short-sighted. My whole life is a life.

I was tagged by Mandy from Make Me Up Mandy. She is a really wonderful person and I think you should all follow her blog. She is such a kind and thoughtful person and her posts are always so interesting and informative. Her FFS posts never cease to make me smile, even if they are at her expense :P I'm just kidding of course, I <3 you Mandy.

Onto the tag!

1.  How many hours a week do you spend planning/writing/uploading posts?

This is a tricky one. Lately I have been posting most days, especially because I am currently on a 4 month university break. Lately I have been spending maybe an hour a day on my blog, so maybe like 7 hours a week? Whilst I am at university, I try to post maybe 4 times a week, so maybe only 4 hours or so a week. I don't really plan my posts more than a couple of days in advance.

2. Are you a spender or a saver?

I am a spender! I was brought up in a pretty thrifty family so once I got older and got my own money I have a tendency to go a little bit crazy. I do always put my bills first though, and I don't have a credit card. So maybe just I think I'm a spender...

3. When is it easiest for you to write your posts?

Whenever :) I live in a very peaceful household, just me and my boyfriend, and I have my own computer. During the semester, it's easiest to write my posts when I do not have anything due the next day haha!

4. What makes writing posts comfortable for you?

I always enjoyed writing at school, I was the top of English class. Writing is very easy and relaxing to me, I actually enjoy writing essays. It's one of those things I don't really have to think about too much.

5. What's your worst make up/hair habit?

The fact that I don't bother with my hair! My natural hair is absolutely mental. Use picture above as example. I literally scrunched and pinned it on top of my head. I spend so much more time on my makeup and skincare than my hair!

6. What's one quote you wish the world would live by?

Stop worrying about everyone else and worry about yourself. I used to be one of those people who always got caught up in other people's drama. Focus on the things that effect your life and your loved ones. Using your time and energy improving your life and being kind to the people who love you back and I can 100% guarantee you will be a happier person.

7. How long do you spend getting ready everyday?

Maybe about 40 minutes? It depends on the day!

8. What's your favourite post on your blog?

I really like my post on the Urban Decay Vice Palette - check it out here!

9. Who is a beauty blogger that you think deserves more subscribers that they have?

Firstly, Kate from La Beaute et le Blogueur. Not only is her blog well written but her photos are beautiful. I would also like to mention Mia from Tea with Mia. She is so kind and I love that she also posts about non-beauty related stuff :D I think you should check out both these ladies and tell them I sent you!

10. What's one this you're excited about in the coming year?

Well I am very excited about Christmas :) starting a new uni course next year also.

11. What's been your favourite blogging moment?

Reaching 100 followers was very nice :D

12. How long does it take to prep for a post?

Usually photos and editing take about an hour :)

13. Are you wearing jeans/skirt right now or are you wearing pajama bottoms?

I am wearing a paisley skirt that I thrifted recently.

14. What are you most proud of in your life?

I am proud that I worked hard at school to get into university, I worked hard in my gap year to pay to move from a country town to the city with all my own money, and I am proud that I now live here and pay my own expenses. I know it doesn't sound that exciting but I did it all with virtually no help and I am glad that I succeed at being an adult. A lot of my friends still live with their parents where as my entire life is independent and I can basically do whatever I want, whenever I want. :D

I would like to tag the following ladies!

Mia from Tea with Mia
Kate from La Beaute et le Blogueur
Shell from Love with Shell
Jen from The Shopping Queen
Julz from Julz Perri Nails

I want to tag more people but then I may as well list every blog I follow because you're all amazing.
If you're not here I tag you anyway!

Thanks so much for tagging me Mandy!

  2. I can relate to having the same kind of post-moving out of home spending spree type experience. Unlike you though, it wasn't my hard earned money, it was still my dad's money!

  3. Aww thanks for your sweet words hun! And thanks for answering the tag; very interesting to read. I know what u mean about spending $. Actually i do like spending my own $! Its only because im relying on husband and using his $ now that i have to hold back more. I used to pamper myself a lot more when i was working. I am proud of you for what you have achieved. It is hard without any help, i understand what its like! Sounds like u have certainly come far and thats always something to be proud of. <3 xoxo

  4. Yay thanks for the tag lovely, I've never done one before but I'll be doing this one for sure!

Good on you for saving so hard and moving out of home, that takes a lot of strength and effort and you should be very proud! Nothing beats moving out of home and starting your own life, especially with your partner. It's one of the best things I've done :) xx

  5. Totally going to check out the blogs you recommended. It really is very easy to blog if it's peaceful surrounding. It's very distracting to blog with alot of people in one house. Great tag :) xx

  6. Nice tag! Congrats on succeeding at becoming an adult. I'm really worried I would have to depend on my mother for the rest of my life, haha. I would love to have a job and be able to pay for my own expenses, but I currently can't get one because I'm a full time student with the world's worst schedule. The future situation is not promising as well, as there is a big financial crisis in my country and no one can get a job nowadays. Maybe I should move to Australia... :D

  9. Thankyou for the tag and for the lovely things you said! Your blog is one of my favourites, I like the way you write and your posts inspire me to lift my game :D haha!

Blogging takes up a lot more time than I thought it would and I wish I had more time to devote to my blog but I probably just need to organise myself better and do more prep work on the weekends!

  12. Thanks so much for tagging me and for the lovely words Mishelle!

I completely get where you're coming from re. independence. When I first moved out of home I was a little annoyed that all my new friends in the city were able to live at home and save, but now I'm so glad that that wasn't possible for me. Being alone and responsible for myself made me so much more confident and capable.
