Garnier BB Cream Miracle Skin Perfecter for Combination/Oily Skin: Review and Demo

Hey everyone

I picked up the new Garnier BB Cream Miracle Skin Perfecter in the new formulation for Combo/Oily skin on the recommendation of Jodi from Goo Roo Beauty. I have been trialing it and the verdict is - I completely love it!

Now I have tried the original formula and I thought that it was a bit too oily in consistency for my liking. It also did not give as much coverage as this new version. However - my Mum uses the original and she seems to really like it, and we have quite similar skin, so this is just my opinion :)

One of the best attributes about this BB Cream is that even though it feels very light on your skin, it has a medium coverage. I think overall it gives a matte finish however it's not the mattest of mattes. It lasts a full 8 hours on my skin with no noticeable fading.

Moisturizer only / Garnier BB Cream

As you can probably see in the first image, my main skin problems are redness, dark circles and large pores. This product definitely minimized the look of my pores and covered my redness. It wasn't powerful enough to cover my dark circles but that's not something I expected anyway :)

As you can see I am having a small break out on the side of my face. The BB Cream covered the spots but not completely. I think if you have bad blemishes/acne, this is not going to provide you with the coverage you  need.

I picked this up for $9 at Coles. Bargain of the century :) I have a new daily foundation!

Have you tried this new version vs the old one? What are your thoughts?

  2. I picked this up today :) It was about $9 at chemist warehouse so I thought why not. I was trying to search for swatches on google but couldn't find any good ones so I bought the light as medium in bb creams are too dark for me. If it's too light, I'll just mix it with my too dark MAC studio sculpt :)

    1. Must be on sale every where! The light is probably a shade too dark for me, but hey, summer's coming so it won't be for long!

  3. You have fantastic skin!

This looks a lot better than the original and it sounds like it's much closer to being an actual BB cream. I wish they'd add a few more shades, I'd really like to try it but it's much too dark for me.

    1. Thank you :) It's actually a teensy bit dark for me and I have the light shade. I would like to try an actual Asian BB Cream. Hopefully they will in the future!

  6. I tried the original one and i hated it, it was so thick and greasy. I've not tried this one yet but it seems like it would be much better for oily / combination skin! xx

  10. I am 36 with combination skin that occasionally breaks out, so I was looking for something that moisturizes without adding a bunch of extra oil. My wife (who is SO beautiful and also has combination skin) recommended the Lady Soma Renew Serum that she uses. This really works! My skin is feeling and looking better. I am so satisfied that I have recommended it to family and friends, something I rarely do. My wife always gets mistaken for someone who is at least 10 years younger than she really is. I imagine that is due to her taking good care of her skin and good genetics, but I must say that I think the hyaluronic acid in the Lady Soma Renew Serum helps to keep her (and me) moisturized and to keep the fine lines at bay.

  11. Hi Sxsupp - I have been using the Lady Soma Serum as well. I have seen decent results - it does control the oil on my face - its not shiney any more! I wish it was more moisturizing though. But i do use it when i want to control oil - its excellent for that.
