August Favourites!

Korres Lip Butter in Quince
The smell and taste of this is amazing. It gives a pink tint to your lips and makes your lips feel so lovely and smooth. I really want to pick these up in more colours! This has become an immediate handbag staple :)

Seche Vite Top Coat
I don't think I can say anything about this top coat that they beauty community hasn't already. It leaves amazing shine that lasts. It dries in minutes. It is amazing and you need it in your life. If you are in Australia you can pick it up from

MAC Lipstick in Impassioned
This lipstick is a neon ass pink. It is fierce as hell. I like to wear this with a gold eye shadow and holy hell it looks fantastic. I will definitely post a FOTD featuring this combo soon. I have a feeling this is going to be my colour this summer.

Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation
So I can say after a month of use, hey I really like this stuff. It makes my face look and feel nice. It is somewhere in between Revlon Colorstay and the love of my life, Covergirl Trublend in consistency, but it leans towards Colorstay in lasting power. Still on my search for my holy grail foundation :(

Australis Fresh and Flawless Pressed Powder
This powder is great. It does not have the lasting power of Rimmel Stay Matte but it has a tendency to look a hell of a lot less cakey. The finish that this powder gives is really nice, it's not tooooo overly matte like some powders can be. Cheap as chips too!

My Inglot Eyeshadows

Hey everyone so today I decided to depot my round Inglot eye shadows into a Z Palette. I used the method I found here. The screw top lids on these eye shadows really annoyed me, so it's nice to have like this now!

My Inglot Z Palette :)

The shades are
395 Pearl is a pale beige leaning towards yellow/peach
397 Pearl is a pale peachy pink
357 Matte is a warm brown
 452 Pearl is a plum/burgundy

Natural Light vs Flash
452 Pearl, 357 Matte, 397 Pearl, 395 Pearl

These eye shadows are highly pigmented, and comparable to MAC or Urban Decay in colour payoff. However they are a much more chalky in consistency, ie. when you run your brush across the pan, they kick up eye shadow. Although this can result in fall out, this is easily avoided by tapping your brush each time. These eye shadows are very lovely quality overall.

Eye of the Day - 395 as highlight, 397 all over the lid, 357 in crease, and 452 in outer corner.

The Best Face Masks!

I love face masks. As someone who sometimes over-stresses, I enjoy using face masks to take some time out from life and just chill out. Here are the ones that I recommend you trying out!

Lush's Oatifix - 75g for $15.95

First off can I just say  that this mask smells delicious, like a warm sweet breakfast on a cold winter's morning. Lush says that this is a blend of oats, bananas, almonds and vanilla. If I have no blemishes I can wear no foundation after using this mask. It calms your skin and gives it an amazing luminosity. This is definitely a mask to use before you are going to a big event and want to look flawless. The only downside to the Lush fresh face masks is that they have an expiry date of 3 weeks from when they were made, not from when you opened them. This is because of the use of fresh ingredients. I get 5 uses out of this mask, and I apply a moderate layer to my whole face.

This mask leaves my face glowing. I would recommend this to people with dry or sensitive skin.

Palmer's Purifying Mask - 120g  for $9.95

This mask smells more like a traditional body lotion, with a lovely mixture of almonds.  Palmer's says this  mask contains Kaolin Clay, Cocoa Butter, Aloe, Almond Oil, Chamomile and Milk. It gives me a very even looking skin tone, and it really seems to balance my skin's chemistry. Palmers claims that this mask tightens and cools your face, and I agree that is certainly the overall effect. It also says that it will draw out impurities in your skin, so maybe avoid using this one before an event. This tube would last my quite a while as I don't apply it very thickly. This is a lovely standard face mask and widely available.

This mask restores balance to your skin. I would recommend this to any skin type.

Formula 10.0.06's Deep Down Detox Ultra Cleansing Mud Mask

This mask smells strongly of oranges, and I adore the smell of oranges! Formula 10.0.6 says this mask  contains Orange, Bergamot, Sea Salt and Cucumber. This mask is highly clarifying. It zaps blemishes and helps to clear up break outs and problem areas. Formula 10.0.06 claim that this mask cleanses impurities for a cleaner, brighter complexion. I am not sure that it brightened my skin but this mask performs when it comes to cleaning your skin. You want to avoid putting this mask on sensitive or dry areas of your face or you may experience stinging. If you want to try any of the Formula 10.0.06 masks, they are also available in trial sachets with 2 uses worth. This is what I first used before buying the full size.

This mask clarifies and helps to clear up oily skin. I would recommend this to oily skin types.

So what are your recommendations when it comes to Face Masks?

Movie Review: 50/50

Hey everyone I just wanted to post a quick review on a really great movie I saw recently.

50/50 is a story about a young man who gets cancer and his struggle with beating it. As in the title, he has a fifty percent change of surviving. This movie is raw and heartwarming, and very emotionally satisfying. It is a film that has balanced comedy and drama very skillfully and all of the actors are fantastic.

This film is not what you would expect a comedy drama about cancer to be like. It is unique and honest storytelling.

Check this movie out ASAP, I know you won't be disappointed.

I rate it 9.5/10

Bargain Beauty Buy - Beauty Essentials Be Warm Eye Shadow Palette - Swatches and Review

Hey everyone

I recently picked up this palette from Priceline for the grand total of $5.99
Considering that neutral palettes are all the rage right now, it's nice to see one available at this price point!
I would not have thought of picking this up at all if not for the fact that they had testers, and the testers swatched surprisingly well. So I had to pick it up and try it out!

The little palette in the flesh!

Under Daylight/Flash

Swatches Top to Bottom Left to Right, Natural Light

Same again under flash!

All of these colours are swatches without primer, one swipe across the pan.

As you can see in the picture, there are some colours that pack a lot of pigment, and some that come up sheerer. However, if you build the colour up on your eyes (ie. two swipes) it can create a very beautiful eye shadow look that really doesn't look like it cost $5.99. My favourite shades are the bottom three in the palette, especially  the champagne/pinkish one, it's like a cool toned version of Sin from the Naked Palette.

This palette is wonderful quality for the price point. The better shades are very similar to Inglot shadows in consistency. I think that us aussie girls often don't find products like this at good prices, in comparison to other countries that have many cheap brands available.

I really recommend picking this up while you can!

I rate it 8/10
